When we last left Kelley, she had narrowly escaped slavery via the village black market and the hag next door lost a fortune when her opportunity to sell a Princess Becoming ended with an empty wheelbarrow. As Kelley made her way back to her home, her temper started to simmer and by the time she arrived, it was in full boil. She paused for a moment in the yard and then made her way down into the cellar where she flew about, collecting her personal belongings and all the papers containing her Soapies business plan and artwork. Shoving these into a potato sack she ran up the stairs, dropped the sack at the top, and then stood in the yard, breathing heavily.
All around her the trees started to rustle and then sway as a strong wind slowly built from nowhere… and everywhere. Before long, the trees were whipping back and forth and straw from the roof of the farmhouse started to blow off. Kelley stood still, arms straight to her side with fists clenched. Her short hair stood on end as the wind increased even more and lightning started to light up the area.
With a loud SLAM! the farmhouse door flew open and Grismelda stumbled into the yard. The wind howling around her, she had to grasp onto a porch support to avoid being blown completely away. Her attempts at screaming were futile – the wind sucked the scream from her throat and swept it away along with all manners of debris and anything else lying about.
And still Kelley stood like a statue, her temper rising to a level she had never before experienced. She shut her eyes and opened her mouth to scream and cry…silently, of course. Though it didn’t seem possible, the wind picked up even further and became a shrieking howl determined to pull Kelley and Grismelda apart. With a mighty crash a lightning bolt struck the ground near Kelley and briefly illuminated the blackness around her. At this, Grismelda completely freaked out and let go of the support – bad idea. In an instant she was lifted up and blown across the yard into the barn where she landed with a huge crash into a pile of wooden boards. The doors to the barn slammed shut and she shrieked in terror as the barn shivered and groaned around her, threatening to collapse at any moment.
Oh dear. Totally out of time. Sorry about that!
